3.1
Copyright: Conditions for Publication
for Copyright Owner
1. It is the press' policy to acquire copyright on all contributions.
There are two reasons for this:
(a) ownership of copyright by the publisher ensures maximum protection
against infringement of copyright protected material through breach
of copyright or piracy anywhere in the world;
(b) it also ensures that requests by third parties to reprint or reproduce
a contribution, or part of it in any format, are handled efficiently in
accordance with our general policy which encourages dissemination of knowledge
inside the framework of copyright.
2. In return for your assignment of copyright, we undertake to publish
your contribution to the Anthology in a timely and professional manner
and license you with the following rights.
3. We hereby grant permission for you to publish the whole or any part
of your Contribution in a printed work written, edited or compiled by you,
provided the usual acknowledgements are given regarding copyright notice
and reference to first publication by the Anthology and The University
Press Bochum. We further license you to make photocopies of your
article for your own teaching needs, or to supply on an individual basis
to research colleagues.
4. We also grant you permission to make available the whole or any part
of your Contribution electronically on a secure network at your institution
(i.e. one for which access is limited to members of the institution and
physical visitors to the institution’s site or sites only), provided
the usual acknowledgements are given regarding copyright notice and reference
to first publication by the Anthology and The University Press Bochum.
5. Permission is also granted for you to make available electronically
the abstract and up to 50% of the published text on the World Wide
Web, provided the usual acknowledgements are given regarding copyright
notice and reference to first publication by the Anthology and The University
Press Bochum, provided this is not through a third party commercial provider,
which requests for use of material from the Anthology should be forwarded
to the publisher.
6. (a) You will be informed, wherever practicable, of all requests,
to which we have agreed, to reproduce your contribution, or a substantial
part of it, in any other print-on-paper publication, or an electronic product
such as a CD Rom where your contribution is specifically requested, rather
than as part of the Anthology as a whole, subject to 5 (b) below.
Please keep our mailing list up to date with your institutional or business
address changes to facilitate this.
(b) The Anthology may make the necessary arrangements, whether they
themselves or through their agents, to place the Contribution in electronic
storage so that it may be transmitted to meet legitimate requests for access
including transmission in a document delivery service, and also the right
to mandate reprographic rights organizations (RROs), such as the Copyright
Clearance Center in the USA, and the Copyright Licensing Agency in the
UK, each of which offers centralized arrangements for photocopying and
digitization in their respective territories.
(c) The Anthology may be made available in both print
and electronic forms.
7. If either of the following applies you may need to sign a different
version of this agreement, in which case please contact the publisher;
(a) If you are a US Government employee and the Contribution was
made in that capacity, or
(b) If you are an employee of the British Government or of a Company
or Institution and the Contribution was made in that capacity.
3.2
Inclusion of Other Copyright Material
If you have included copyright material, e.g. illustrations, photographs,
tables, charts, maps, company logos/trademarks or other visual material,
etc. and not requested permission for this use under the Fair Dealing provisions
of the UK Copyright, Patents and Designs Act 1998 or Fair Use Provisions
under US law for use of material in review , or other National or International
Copyright Laws which may be in force, please give your reasons for
such inclusion of material below:
